The Recap: Juicy Brews Beach Party Beer Festival

Juicy Brews was this past Saturday, January 25th, and man did this fest live up to its name. As Kenny promised in our interview a couple of weeks back, this fest was STACKED with some of the best breweries pouring not just juicy, hoppy beers, but also sweet and tart fruited sours and rich and decadent pastry stouts. If you want an example of what 2020 beer hype is all about, this fest had it all. In a good way. Actually, a GREAT way.

The fest was held at Brouwerij West in San Pedro, and for anyone who hasn’t been there, it’s a huge open warehouse complex that is the perfect setting for a beer festival. The weather was perfect, sun shining bright but balanced by a cool breeze coming off the port. Honestly, you couldn’t plan more perfect weather for a beer festival. And the expansive space was perfect for booth setup, enough room to move around, lines under control, but still tight enough to feel intimate and not get lost.

When it comes to the beers, you couldn’t find a bad beer. Hell, you’d be hard-pressed to find anything just mediocre. All the breweries brought their A-game, so much so, that I couldn’t do it justice naming them all. Here’s the top 3 from our team:
