It’s February once again and the time has come for the elusive Pliny the Younger to hit LA area taps for 2018! Whether you’re a PtY vet or you’re still searching for your first taste of Russian River’s golden nectar, this is your guide to finding out where to drink Pliny the Younger Triple IPA in Los Angeles & Orange County in 2018.

The 2018 Pliny the Younger Season in LA is Now Over!
But there are plenty of other amazing hoppy beers coming out of the 60+ local and independent LA breweries. Echo Park – Friday February 16, 10am
Kicking things off for 2018, Mohawk Bend will be tapping their keg of Pliny the Younger on Friday February 16th. They’ll start issuing letter group cards starting at 10:30am, with pours starting at 3pm. Each group will have 20 people and will be served in 15 minute intervals from 3pm-7pm. Even though last year’s keg ended up lasting after the ticket line died down, we’re expecting this year’s first LA Younger keg to go quickly!
Redondo Beach – Friday February 16, about 3pm
Nothing like a secret tapping of Pliny the Younger on a Friday afternoon! Naja’s Place closed out Flight Week with a special IPA flight featuring Pliny the Younger. The keg is still pouring as of 7:50pm on Friday, but it won’t last long, so hurry out to Redondo Beach to grab yourself a pour of that along with the dozens of other amazing beers they have on tap.
Tony’s Darts Away
Burbank – Saturday February 17, 9am
Younger hits Burbank on Saturday Feb 17th! Tony’s will start selling tickets starting at 9am. Once you get your ticket you can come back between 10am-5pm to redeem for your pour. $6 for a 6oz pour or for $10 you can keep the glass. If there’s any juice left in the keg after 5pm, they’ll open up to non ticket holders. But if you want to guarantee yourself a pour, wake up a little early and head down to Tony’s before 9am where there will no doubt be a line waiting. This is a great chance for us east SFV peeps to grab ourselves a pour!
Orange – Monday February 19, 10am
Hollingshead down in Orange is tapping their Younger keg on President’s Day, Monday, February 20th at 10am. They’ll be pouring several other special Russian River beers and Younger pours are available first come, first served. This is a compact venue and the line tends to move very slowly, so get there early unless you want to spend 2-3+ hours in line. Plus you’ll get a cool Hollingshead Pliny the Younger mug as a reward.
Ladyface Alehouse & Brasserie
Agoura Hills – Monday February 19, 11:30am
Ladyface quietly tapped their keg of Pliny the Younger along with a few other Russian River beers. Northwest LA County, this is a great chance for you to grab yourself a mid-day pour. This one doesn’t last long!
Congregation Ale House
Long Beach – Tuesday February 20, 7pm
Congregation Ale House in Long Beach is tapping their keg of Pliny the Younger at 7pm on Tuesday. Head on over there!
Tustin Brewing Company
Tustin – Wednesday February 21, 11am
Russian River Week returns to Tustin Brewing Co with a bunch of amazing Russian River beers, including, you guessed it, a tapping of Pliny the Younger on Wednesday the 21st. Line will start early, wristbands will be passed out at 10am, and those with wristbands will have the chance to buy their $8 ticket for a pour starting at 11am. At that point, you can hang around or leave and come back, but the Younger keg will be tapped at 3pm and you’ll have all day to redeem your ticket for a glass of the sweet triple IPA nectar. Plan to call in sick and stay all day though, Tustin Brewing Co is legit. This is a great option for OC hop heads. And a quick heads up, they’ve been known to tap a secret keg a few days before the ticketed event, so follow us on Twitter and we’ll pass along the word as soon as we hear it.
Santa Monica – Wednesday February 21, 12pm
Library Alehouse infamously hosts one of the most under the radar tappings of Pliny the Younger in LA. And they tapped it today at 12pm. If you hurry now, you’ll enjoy a low key pour at one of the best beer bars in the city.
The Salted Pig
Riverside – Wednesday February 21, 11:30am
For the seventh year in a row, The Salted Pig is tapping their keg of Pliny the Younger. Doors open at 11:30am, but the line will start forming well before then. Tickets will be passed out as the line forms, one per person present. They’ll have a bunch of other Russian River beers on tap and in the bottle for you to enjoy as well.
Manhattan Beach – Thursday February 22, 5pm
Simmzy’s tapped Pliny the Younger at about 5pm on Thursday 2/22. This one flies pretty under the radar, but it goes fast, so hurry and snag yourself a pour before their keg runs dry! If you miss out on this one, they are getting another keg and will be tapping again soon!
The Surly Goat
West Hollywood – Thursday February 22, 8pm
Pliny the Younger madness hits the Surly Goat in West Hollywood with a Thursday night tapping at 8pm. If you’re a part of their Beer Passport program, you get early access. Full passports get in at 5pm, 60 stamp passports get in at 5:15, 40 stamp passports get in at 5:30, and 20 stamp passports get in at 5:45. Doors to the public open up at 6pm with the Younger tapping at 8.
The Daily Pint
Santa Monica – Friday February 23
The Daily Pint is selling Pliny the Younger tickets starting at 6:30pm on Thurs 2/22, redeemable for a pour on Friday 2/23. Two days in a row at The Daily Pint? Could be worse. Much worse.
Tustin Brewing Company
Tustin – Friday, February 23, 5pm
Tustin Brewing Company released 70 tickets online to their social media followers late Friday afternoon for a pour the same day starting at 5pm and ending at 6pm. Any reserved pours not redeemed by 6pm go to their wait list. So, even if you weren’t one of the lucky 70 to snap your spot online, head down there and give it a shot. At the very least they have a bunch of other great Russian River and house beers to try.
The Bottle Room
Whittier – Saturday February 24, 10am
Pliny the Younger will be going down The Bottle Room in Whittier on Saturday February 24th at 10am. They’ll also be pouring other Russian River beers. Get on it, Whittier!
38 Degrees Ale House
Alhambra – Saturday February 24, 11am
It’s Pliny the Younger Day at 38 Degrees in Alhambra once again! It all goes down Saturday 2/24 at 11am. The line typically starts forming in the early morning hours around 5am, but really doesn’t get going until about 8am. We’ve heard the line turns into a little bit of a bottle share (hey, we don’t condone it, but we aren’t complaining!). They’ll be serving up about 180 ten-ounce pours which comes with a free commemorative glass. They’ll also have special Russian River flights and other specials going. 38 Degrees is an LA craft beer institution, so this is always a fun one to hit if you have the time.
Blue Palms Brewhouse
Hollywood – Saturday February 24, 11:00am
One of LA’s most iconic craft beer joints is tapping their Pliny keg on Saturday 2/24 at 11:00am. They’ll have two lines going, one for cash and one for credit cards (Tip: bring cash!) where you can get your 10oz pour of the Younger for $20 (pricey, but proceeds benefit Hollywood PAL). Get there early for this one, the line starts forming down Hollywood Blvd several hours before opening each year. The crew at Blue Palms are pros and usually keep this event highly controlled. Expect the line to move quickly and for the keg to kick in about 30 minutes.
Lucky Baldwin’s Pub Old Town
Pasadena – Saturday February 24, 11am
Lucky Baldwin’s Pub in Old town Pasadena will be tapping their keg of Younger on Saturday February 24th. Ticket sales start at 11am and the keg taps at 1pm. (Thanks to Lisa Brandley for the tip!)
Barbara’s at the Brewery
Lincoln Heights – Saturday February 24, 1:30pm & 7pm
In celebration of their 19th anniversary, Barbara’s at the Brewery tapped their keg of Pliny the Younger around 1:30pm along with a ton of other amazing beers, then tapped a second keg around 7pm. This is a super low key event, so should be pretty easy to get a pour. And if the keg runs out, they’ve been known to tap another later in the day. Either way, come to celebrate Barbara’s and the awesome beer they get, and if you get a Younger pour, then that’s just icing on the cake.
Orange – Sunday February 25, 9am
Oh, the infamous Beer Brunch at Haven Gastropub! The folks at Haven are serving up a delicious brunch menu to go along with either a single pour of the Younger or in a special Russian River flight. One pour per person, special glassware while supplies last, and tickets will be passed out to the line just before 9am. It’s a Sunday morning, so yes, the line will be significant, BUT if you follow @HavenGastropub on Instagram, they’re holding 10 giveaways for front-of-the-line passes. What have you got to lose?
Lucky Baldwin’s Trappiste Pub
Pasadena – Sunday February 25, 11am
Lucky Baldwin’s Trappiste Pub location in Pasadena will be tapping their keg of Younger on Sunday February 25th. Ticket sales start at 11am and the keg taps at 1pm.
Culver City – Sunday February 25, 12pm & Monday February 26, 5pm
Pliny the Younger is getting tapped at Father’s Office Culver City on Sunday February 25th at 12pm. 100 pours available. Go get it! They’ll also be pouring a second keg on Monday February 26th at 5pm. Same deal, 100 pours. Act accordingly.
Sherman Oaks – Monday February 26, 6pm
Boneyard Bistro quietly tapped their keg of Pliny the Younger at 6:00pm on Monday 2/26. The Boneyard Bistro tapping is the one that we personally attend each year and find it to be one of the best ways to experience Pliny the Younger.
Santa Monica – Monday February 26, 5pm & Tuesday February 27, 5pm
Pliny the Younger is getting tapped at Father’s Office Santa Monica on Monday February 26th at 5pm. 100 pours available. Go get it! They’ll also be pouring a second keg on Tuesday February 27th at 5pm. Same deal, 100 pours. Act accordingly.
Claremont – Tuesday February 27, 3pm
Eureka Claremont will be tapping their keg of Pliny the Younger at 3pm. BUT in order to ensure yourself a taste, you’ll need to be one of the first 60 people to buy a $9 ticket for a 9 ounce pour. Ticket sales start at 8am, and once you get your ticket, you can leave and come back after 3pm for your pour of the Younger.
Selma’s Chicago Pizzeria & Tap Room
Rancho Santa Margarita – Tuesday February 27, 4:30pm
On February 25th at 11am, Selma’s in Rancho Santa Margarita will be selling 110 wristbands (one per person, $15 cash only) that you can redeem for a pour of Pliny the Younger with a commemorative glass on February 27th at 4:30pm. That’s when they’ll be having a full on Russian River tap takeover featuring Younger, Elder, Blind Pig, and Consecration on tap along with Damnation, Supplication, and Consecration in the bottle. Great chance for the South OC to get a pour!
Redlands – Wednesday February 28, 3pm
Eureka Redlands will be tapping their keg of Pliny the Younger at 3pm. BUT in order to ensure yourself a taste, you’ll need to be one of the first 60 people to buy a $9 ticket for a 9 ounce pour. Lucky Baldwin’s Delirium & Cafe
Sierra Madre – Saturday March 3, 8am
Lucky Baldwin’s Delirium & Cafe in Sierra Madre will be tapping their keg of Pliny the Younger on Saturday March 3rd. Ticket sales start at 8 or 9am and the keg taps around noon. This is usually one of the final tappings of the season, so don’t miss out!
The Stuffed Sandwich
San Gabriel – Saturday March 3, 11am
The iconic Stuffed Sandwich in San Gabriel is tapping their keg of Pliny the Younger at 11am on Saturday March 3rd. One pour per person til the keg runs out.
Glassell Park – Wednesday March 7, 6pm
Verdugo Bar is tapping their keg of Pliny the Younger on Wednesday, March 7th. Doors open at 6pm with the keg tapping at 8pm. You know that the line will start forming well in advance, so be sure to plan accordingly. This is the last planned Younger tapping in LA this year, so if you’ve missed out so far, this might be your last chance until 2019.
