It’s February once again and the time has come for the elusive Pliny the Younger to hit LA area taps for 2019! Whether you’re a PtY vet or you’re still searching for your first taste of Russian River’s golden nectar, this is your guide to finding out where to drink Pliny the Younger Triple IPA in Los Angeles & Orange County in 2019.

Tustin Brewing Company
Tustin – February 17th
To celebrate their upcoming Russian River week, Tustin Brewing Co quietly tapped a keg of Pliny the Younger. Head down and grab a pour! Don’t worry if you miss out though, they’ll have more Younger tapping this week.
Echo Park – February 17th
Just when you thought Mohawk Bend was done with Pliny the Younger for the year, they tap another surprise keg on Sunday afternoon. This one is non-ticketed so head down to Echo Park and get yourself a pour at one of the best craft beer spots on the Eastside.
Beachwood BBQ & Brewing
Long Beach & Seal Beach – Now through February 18th
Ticket sales for Beachwood’s annual Pliny Fights Cancer Charity Fundraiser went on sale January 22nd and can be purchased at their Long Beach and Seal Beach locations up until the event on February 18th. Head on down there and pick yours up, it’s a great way to score a hassle-free pour of Younger and your odds of winning are pretty good too!
The Daily Pint
Santa Monica – Tickets Feb 18th / Tapping Feb 20th
The Daily Pint in Santa Monica will be pre-selling tickets for a pour of Pliny the Younger starting Monday, February 18th at 6pm. Head out there, grab yourself a beer or a whiskey, get a ticket, then return Wednesday, February 20th starting at 7pm for your Younger pour!
The Local Peasant
Woodland Hills – February 18th
SFV beer lovers rejoice! The Local Peasant in Woodland Hills has procured a keg of Pliny the Younger for this year and will be tapping it Monday February 18th at 4pm. Pours are 8oz and they’ll also have Elder on for your drinking pleasure.
Orange – February 18th
Hollingshead Deli in Orange is tapping their keg of Pliny the Younger on Monday February 18th starting at 10am. This is a small spot and the line tends to move very slowly for this release, so unless you have time to wait, I highly suggest arriving early to be one of the first groups inside.
Manhattan Beach – February 19th
BrewCo has Younger for the first time! They’ll be tapping their keg on Tuesday, February 19th at 12pm. Get on down to the beach and grab a pour!
Congregation Ale House
Long Beach – February 19th
Congregation Ale House in Long Beach VERY QUIETLY tapped a keg of Pliny the Younger Saturday afternoon for a private group and will be opening up pours for the masses on Tuesday, February 19th at 7pm. Get on down there and get yourself a pour!
Tustin Brewing Company
Tustin – February 20th
Tustin Brewing Company is having their annual Pliny the Younger event on Wednesday, February 20th during their Russian River Week celebration. Tickets will go on sale to those in line on 11am on Wednesday to be redeemable for a pour at 3pm that day. They have been known to tap a 2nd unannounced keg later in the week, so if you miss out on tickets, you may have a second chance!
The Surly Goat
West Hollywood – February 21st
The Surly Goat is having a special Russian River tap takeover featuring, you guessed it, Pliny the Younger. Doors open at 6pm, Younger taps at 8pm, so we suggest showing up with plenty of time to spare to ensure yourself a pour. Plenty of other Russian River beers on tap as well for your drinking enjoyment.
38 Degrees Alehouse
Alhambra – February 23rd
38 Degrees is hosting their famous Pliny the Younger Day on Saturday, February 23rd in Alhambra. Doors open at 11am, but you’re gonna want get there early to hit the bottle share going down in line that morning. Only 180 glasses are being poured, free commemorative glasses while supplies last.
The Stuffed Sandwich
San Gabriel – February 23rd
The Stuffed Sandwich in San Gabriel will be tapping their keg of Pliny the Younger on Saturday, February 23rd starting at 11am. No other details as of yet, but this spot is an LA craft beer institution, so head out and pay your respects!
The Bottle Room
Whittier – February 23rd
The Bottle Room is tapping their keg of Pliny the Younger on Saturday, February 23rd at 10am sharp. Get there early if you want to ensure yourself a pour!
Haven Craft Kitchen & Bar
Orange – February 23rd & 24th
Haven is expanding their Pliny the Younger brunch to both Saturday AND Sunday this year! Starting at 9am on a first come, first served basis, you can order a pour of Younger by itself or in a flight of Russian River beers to pair up with their brunch menu. One per person and special commemorative glassware available while supplies last. Be sure to enter their daily contests on Instagram at @havencraftkitchen to grab a spot at the front of the line too!
Lucky Baldwin’s Pub
Old Town Pasadena – February 23rd
Lucky Baldwin’s Pub in Old Town Pasadena is hosting their annual Russian River event featuring a tapping of Pliny the Younger! The festivities typically start around 11am so be sure get there a little early to ensure yourself a pour. We’ll update this post as we get more details.

Pasadena – February 24th
Lucky Baldwin’s Trappiste in Pasadena is hosting their annual Russian River event featuring a tapping of Pliny the Younger! The festivities typically start around 11am so be sure get there a little early to ensure yourself a pour. We’ll update this post as we get more details.
38 Degrees Alehouse
Monrovia – February 24th
38 Degrees’ Monrovia location will be pouring Pliny the Younger the first time! Doors open at 11am but there will be a line forming earlier. There will be about 120 10oz pours in total so get on down there, Monrovia!
Santa Monica – February 25th
Father’s Office’s Santa Monica outpost is tapping at least one of their kegs of Pliny the Younger on Monday February 25th starting at 5pm. They are reserving a portion of their pours for their Board Members VIP group, but there should be plenty left for those of you who show up on time and get in there. They typically reserve another keg for a secret unannounced tapping, but we’ll see what happens this year.
Selma’s Pizzeria & Tap Room
Rancho Santa Margarita – February 25th & 26th
Selma’s is hosting their Russian River Tap Takeover featuring Pliny the Younger kegs tapping at 4:30pm on both February 25th AND 26th. To get in on a pour you’ll need to be in line by 10am at either their Ladera Ranch or Santa Margarita locations to get a wristband. There will be 50 wristbands at Ladera Ranch for each day and 100 wristbands at Rancho Santa Margarita for each day, so there will be plenty to go around if you get there on time!
Lucky Baldwin’s Delirium & Cafe
Sierra Madre – March 2nd
Lucky Baldwin’s Delirium & Cafe in Sierra Madre is hosting their annual Russian River event featuring a tapping of Pliny the Younger! The festivities typically start around 11am so be sure get there a little early to ensure yourself a pour. We’ll update this post as we get more details.

Redondo Beach – February 8th Naja’s Place in Redondo Beach has tapped their keg of Pliny the Younger as of 3pm on Friday. Typically an unannounced tapping, Naja’s announced it on their Instagram, making me feel like there’s the possibility of another unannounced tapping in the cards at some point. Purely speculation! Either way, head down to Redondo Beach area RIGHT NOW and grab your first pour of the season before it’s gone!
House of Billiards
Sherman Oaks – February 8th Lookie what we have here! One of our favorite beer bars, House of Billiards in Sherman Oaks, got their hands on a keg of Pliny the Younger for the first time! Quietly tapped at 5pm on Friday and still pouring on Saturday. No lines, no waiting. Fight the traffic and get a pour, shoot some billiards and say what up to the homie Ben who always has the great beer flowing!
The Salted Pig
Riverside – February 9th The Salted Pig has an early season tapping of Pliny the Younger going down at their gastropub in Riverside this Saturday, February 9th starting at 10am. They’ll be distributing tickets as the line forms and will have a bunch of other special beers on tap and by the bottle.
Ventura – February 11th After years of holding it down as the #1 spot for great craft beer in Ventura, Barrelhouse 101 has finally gotten their hands on Pliny the Younger. They’re tapping it immediately, this morning, Monday February 11st starting at 11:30am. Ventura, you know what to do.
Bottle & Pint
Oxnard – February 11th Bottle & Pint in The Annex Food Hall at The Collection is bringing Pliny the Younger to Oxnard for the very first time! They’ll be tapping Younger, Elder and some other Russian River beers on Monday February 11th at 4pm. No tickets, no pre-sales, just get ready for a bit of a line.
Fluid State Beer Garden
Ventura – February 12th For the first time ever, Ventura beer bars are getting kegs of Pliny the Younger! One of our absolute favorite spots is kicking off the festivities with a ticket sale on Saturday February 9th starting at 1pm. Tickets are $9 for one 8oz pour that can be redeemed the upcoming Tuesday February 12th anytime from noon to 11pm. This is unprecedented for Ventura, so I’d expect tickets to sell out quickly, but if you get your ticket, expect it to be pretty chill on Tuesday when you get your Younger!
West 4th & Jane
Santa Monica – February 12th West 4th & Jane is on the list for Pliny the Younger this year and surprised us all with a spontaneous 12pm Tuesday tapping.
The Surly Goat
Encino – February 13th Encino is another local beer community benefiting from the increased production at Russian River’s new brewery. They’ll be tapping Pliny the Younger for the first time on Wednesday, Feburary 13th. Tickets will be available to pick up from 4-6:30pm and can be redeemed for a pour from 7-8:30pm before being opened up to the public.
Tony’s Darts Away
Burbank – February 14th Tony’s Darts Away continues its run as Burbank’s go-to spot for getting a pour of Pliny the Younger. Starting at 11am on Valentine’s Day Thursday February 14th, they’ll be giving out tickets that are redeemable for a 6oz pour of Younger anytime between 12-8pm. They’ll have plenty of other Russian River beers on tap as well as a selection of Triple IPAs for your side by side tasting enjoyment.
Redondo Beach – February 15th Round 2 for Pliny the Younger at Naja’s! Tapped around 1pm so head down there right quick and get your self a little sippy sip.
Echo Park – February 15th Mohawk Bend will be tapping their keg(s) of Pliny the Younger on Friday February 15th. They’ll start passing out lettered group cards starting at 10:30am, will be tapping the keg at 2pm and then will be letting in each group one by one and serving 6oz pours of Younger for $6 every 15 minutes until 6pm.
Anaheim Hills – February 15th Slater’s in Anaheim Hills is tapping their keg of Pliny the Younger this Friday, February 15th starting at 10am. Pours are 10 ounces for $10, one per person. Head down there and check it out.
Santa Monica – February 16th Father’s Office in Santa Monica very quietly tapped a keg of Pliny the Younger on Saturday afternoon and apparently it sold out so fast we didn’t even hear about it! Not to worry, they have more kegs of Younger tapping soon.
Blue Palms Brewhouse
Hollywood – February 16th Blue Palms is kicking off Pliny the Younger season in LA with their fundraiser tapping on Saturday, February 16th. Doors open at 11am (yes, there will be a line much earlier) where they’ll have a credit card line and a much faster cash line. Get in the cash line, grab a 10oz pour for $20 and enjoy it. Proceeds benefit Hollywood PAL.
