Welcome to This Week in LA Beer, a bite-sized look at some of the things we think are worth paying attention to this week around the Los Angeles craft beer community.

The first edition went pretty well, so we’re doing this again. Let’s get into it.

7th Annual Los Angeles IPA Festival.

The 7th Annual Los Angeles IPA Festival is coming up on Saturday, February 29th and we couldn’t be more stoked!

This is one of the premier hoppy event of the year and exclusively features some of the best West Coast IPAs produced in the state of California, all under one roof.

It’s all going down at Mohawk Bend in Echo Park on 2/29. No tickets need, just show up and drink great beer. Doesn’t get much better than that.

#PLINYWATCH 2020 Begins!

Yep, the time of year you all know and love, Pliny the Younger season, is finally here! To be completely honest, with the increase in availability of Younger in LA that we expect this year, we contemplated retiring #PLINYWATCH. But we’ve heard from a bunch of you guys that were looking forward to it, so we decided to bring it back for another year. The first THREE tappings have been announced and we’re anticipating more to start going live over the course of the week.

Check out the list of bars pouring Pliny the Younger.

Juicy Brews w/ Chasing Brews

In this episode of Chasing Brews, join Chase as he heads to Juicy Brews Beach Party and:

  • visits Brouwerij West’s massive impressive taproom for the very first time
  • tastes beers from Bissell Brothers, Wren House, Homage Brewing, Kings Brewing, and Cellador Ales
  • destroys a double smash burger from Love Hour
  • with a quick cameo by @theyoungcraftenthusiast!

Follow Chase at @chasingbrews and stay tuned for his next vlog coming soon!
