It’s no secret that the LA craft beer scene is exploding. With new breweries, beer bars, and bottle shops opening up all the time all around Los Angeles, it can be pretty tough to keep up. Not any longer!
Here is your guide to the newest craft beer openings in Los Angeles.

Ambitious Ales

The newest brewery to hit Long Beach is Ambitious Ales, with a grand opening planned for Saturday, February 16th.
Started by 5 homebrewing friends, Ambitious Ales is located in a historic building in the Bixby Knolls neighborhood featuring a 10-barrel brewhouse, a modern, industrial style tasting room, and a good-sized patio overlooking Atlantic Ave.
Expect 5 core beers out of the gate with plenty of rotating special releases including some barrel-aged brews in the foreseeable future.

California Sun

The Artisanal Brewers Collective is at it again! Their newest spot is California Sun, a casual neighborhood pizza & beer joint decked out with a cool vintage style bar, sidewalk patio area, and a convenience store style grab n’ go for quick walkup service.
Expect a food menu highlighted by both NY-style and Detroit-style pizza complemented by 14 taps of craft beer (including brews from ABC’s own New Original Breweries plus some really good guest taps) as well as over 140 different canned beers to drink on-site or take to-go.

Bottlecraft Long Beach

Started in San Diego, Bottlecraft is a fast-growing craft beer retailer with beer bar and bottle shop locations in North Park, Liberty Station, Little Italy, Solana Beach and more.
Their newest location is a beer bar located in The Hangar food hall at The Long Beach Exchange where they’ll have 30 craft beers on draft, plus wine, Kombucha and cider by the glass.
These guys get access to some of the best beer around, so head on over there and check it out!

Hi-Lo Liquor Market

Hi-Lo Liquor Market has been selling you awesome beer, wine, and spirits in Culver City since early 2017. Now, they’re launching The Counter at Hi-Lo, a sleek new tasting bar within the store where you can get pours of local craft beer every night of the week. Great new addition to the neighborhood, so head on out there, grab yourself a pint, then pick up some beer to-go!

ESBC The Slice & Pint

The wait is over! El Segundo Brewing’s second location, The Slice & Pint officially opened up on Thursday January 24th.
Located just a couple blocks from the main brewery location in El Segundo, expect about 20 taps of mostly El Segundo beers and a couple guest brews, complemented by a menu featuring both New York style AND Detroit style pizzas.
In addition to the main dining room seating, sports fans can throw back slices and pints in “The Dugout” which has more TVs, its own bar, and shuffleboard to give more of a sports bar vibe.

Burnin Daylight Brewing Company

Burnin Daylight is the long-anticipated brewery venture from former Phantom Carriage / El Segundo / HopSaint brewer, Brendan Lake. This family-run operation is soft opening on Thursday, January 24th in their downtown Lomita location in the South Bay.
While soft openings are generally geared towards working out the kinks, here you can expect good beers pouring from the get-go.

Wingwalker Brewing

Monrovia has itself a brand new brewery! After quite some time in planning and construction, Wingwalker Brewing is quietly opening up Fridays-Sundays through the month of January leading up to a grand opening on February 9th. Wingwalker is led by owner and brewer David Robkin, and while it’s a lean operation, there is fresh brewed craft beer there. So check out Wingwalker, try some of their beers, and let us know what you think!

The 4th Horseman

The 4th Horseman is a brand new bar located in the old Public Beer Wine Shop space on 4th St in Downtown Long Beach. Brought to you by Martin Svab and Ryan Hughes (formerly of Phantom Carriage Brewery), this new spot continues the craft beer focus, with a nice selection on draft in addition to cans and bottles as well as fine wine and pizza on the menu.
If you’re a fan of the dark, horror theme aesthetic at Phantom Carriage, you’ll definitely enjoy The 4th Horseman’s apocalyptic-themed space with dim lighting, neon signage, macabre chandeliers, and…classic arcade games!
