When someone asks us for the best beer spots in LA, we immediately come back with followup questions – “What part of LA will you be in?”, “What styles of beer do you like?”, “Are you looking for food AND beer?”, “What’s your mode of transportation?”, etc. The real answer is, it depends.

With so many choices on our LA Beer Finder, it’s pretty hard to go wrong. But if you’re looking for our top 10, here’s our current list. And just like the taps at your favorite beer bar, it rotates often.

The Bottle Shoppe is a boutique retailer of fine wines, craft beers, and spirits located in Sylmar at the north end of the San Fernando Valley. The Shoppe features several cooler doors full of local, regional, national, and import craft beers – many of which you don’t ever see around Los Angeles. They also conduct in-store tastings and have a delivery service with mobile app coming soon!

Started in San Diego, Bottlecraft is a fast-growing craft beer retailer with beer bar and bottle shop locations in North Park, Liberty Station, Little Italy, Solana Beach and more.

Their newest location is a beer bar located in The Hangar food hall at The Long Beach Exchange where they have 30 craft beers on draft from local and regional breweries, frequently tapping beers you don’t see in the LA area all too often!

Cellador Ales

Cellador Ales is a 100% oak-barrel fermented mixed-culture brewery and blendery focusing on the creation of some of the best sour and wild beers in LA.

The Slice & Pint

El Segundo

The Slice & Pint is the second location for El Segundo Brewing Company, located just down the street from the main brewery location. They have about 20 taps pouring mostly El Segundo’s delicious beers (highlighted by their West Coast style IPAs), a few guest beers, and wine complemented by a killer lineup of New York style AND Detroit style pizzas. This location features a main dining room with bar and communal seating as well as a separate section known as “The Dugout” featuring more of a sports bar vibe.

Highland Park Brewery Chinatown

Highland Park Brewery’s new Chinatown location features double the brewing capacity and more than double the space than their original location at The Hermosillo. In addition to their amazing hoppy beers, lagers, and barrel-aged wild ales, HPB’s new space boasts an expansive bar, a full kitchen, and a great outdoor patio.

House of Billiards is a laid-back bar and pool hall on Ventura Blvd in the heart of Sherman Oaks featuring plenty of tables, TVs, and one of the best craft beer selections in the San Fernando Valley.

Mumford Brewing

Mumford Brewing is a family-owned brewery and taproom located at the intersection of Litte Tokyo, Skid Row, and the Arts District in Downtown Los Angeles. Head Brewer Peter Mumford got his start up in Northern California wine country and is now brewing up some of the best hoppy ales and clean, crisp lagers in the city. Look out for their frequent Hazy IPA can releases or any of their lagers on tap around town. They’re also in the midst of expanding with taprooms in the DTLA Arts District and Glendale, so Mumford is just getting started.
