A new brewery is coming to North Hollywood. Lawless Brewing Co., led by owners Ben and Whitney Wallace, will host its grand opening on Tuesday, April 27.
The brand-new space will host both the brewery and a multi-level taproom, plus a socially-distanced patio outside, with a 20-tap bar set-up. Early beers look to include a wide variety of crispy lighter beers, like the Academy Gold kolsch and Flight of the Chancla, a Vienna lager, plus plenty of IPAs, sours, and a bourbon barrel-aged stout.
Lawless is the newest resident of the Noho Arts District, which is home to hot spot bars like El Tejano, Idle Hour, and Hop Merchants. The brewery’s Craner Ave location is conveniently near the Chandler Bikeway, and just two blocks from the Red Line Metro Station. Their massive warehouse space used to house a film rental house – Lawless began construction on their full build-out last July.
Local industry veterans anchor the brewery’s opening team. Head brewer Josh McCombs previously served in the same role at Abigaile, the former South Bay brewpub, and taproom manager Tyler White is a former beer buyer at Walt’s Bar, and bartender at Glendale Tap and Father’s Office.
The Wallaces launched an Indiegogo early last year, with plans to open in late 2020. But those plans were derailed when the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Now, just a few months behind schedule, the brewery is ready for its debut.
Lawless opens on Tuesday, April 27th. After that, hours will be weekdays 5pm-10pm, and weekends noon-10pm.
