UNCANNED: Mosaic Oasis by Karl Strauss Brewing Co & Modern Times Beer

In this episode we’re diving into the latest collab between Karl Strauss & Modern Times and trying to find the answer to the age-old question “What is San Diego-style IPA?”. Let’s find out…

Mosaic Oasis is a 7% IPA hopped with Mosaic and Talus. It pours a bright and cloudy glowing orange with an active head of densely-packed bubbles. The nose is a massive fruit bomb with huge notes of coconut and grapefruit shining through complemented by tropical fruit and sweet red berry. On the taste, the coconut cuts through in a BIG way but not that artificial suntan lotion type of coconut. This cocout comes through in a very pleasant fresh, earthy and slightly sweet way. The beer finishes out dry with a light body and lingering citrus flavors.

While we didn’t really answer the question of What is San Diego-style IPA, we did get a look at a very fun and delicious beer from Karl Strauss and Modern Times, so we’re not complaining.
